♦️The Union Govt has to announce a relief package to be supplemented by State Govts
♦️If Kerala and West Bengal (and even Delhi ) why not the Union Govt ?
♦️There are daily wagers, temp labourers, farm workers, rickshaw pullers, auto and cab drivers, delivery boys, courier boys, maid servants (who have been banned from entering societies), Ola and Uber cab drivers, the homeless, the deprived, the physically challenged all of whom suddenly face the very real prospect of death by starvation if not the Corona Virus infection
♦️The rather strange antagonistic view being expressed by people towards relief for the poor and underprivileged stems from the confidence of being privileged;
♦️privileged to have a home large enough for social distancing,
♦️privilege of having running water in the house to wash hands,
♦️privilege to use soap while washing hands
♦️the privilege to have enough money to buy sanitisers to sanitise hands!
♦️This is the typical Indian Middle Class view
