The greatest asset about most filmstars from Bollywood (with a few exceptions like Sunil Dutt and Shatrughan Sinha) is they do as they are told, recite a few dialogues from their last hit film(doesn’t matter if it was 10 years ago) and generally appear with make-up on stage; any stage!
Unlike in the South where there’s substance to stardust, here it’s only dust!

You already have Urmila Matondkar and a few other airheads giving gyan in one liners on a Congress ticket!
The unparalleled Sunny Deol is the BJP’s candidate from Gurdaspur, Punjab for this Lok Sabha poll; and he is expected to win by a landslide!
The late filmstar Vinod Khanna had won by huge margins when BJP gave him a ticket …thrice!
And I am all for filmstars contesting elections; MGR, NTR, Jayalalitha, Karunanidhi, Gemini Ganesan, Kamalahasan …the list is endless
There is also Moon Moon Sen
So why am I writing about Sunny Deol?
I like the man; I like his father Dharamendra too!
And I think this is one filmstar who will genuinely work for Gurdaspur!
And I am willing to be crucified for this when after winning SUNNY THE DEOL does not visit Gurdaspur at all
And it won’t be the first time that I would have been crucified for having been proven wrong by all the people I really and truly liked!
Take Mr Narendra Modi for instance
And of course the young lad who used to call me UNCLE namely Rahul Gandhi!
But I continue to live in and on HOPE!
